Welcome to my pages.
I have been involved in embroidery and stitched textiles for 17 years, the same length of time that I have been playing with Friendly Plastic; but it took me about 6 years to discover that I could work the two mediums together. In all that time I have never got bored or felt limited by either medium, and I continue to discover new ways of working with Friendly Plastic, and indeed textiles. The contrast between the solid yet flexible plastic and the fluid and comparably delicate fabric never ceases to excite me. Take a look at the gallery pages and see the versatility of a modelling material that could all too easily be written off as past it’s sell by date. Friendly Plastic is a medium of today, and it works with so much more than textiles. Because it is light and quick to work it is great for card makers and scrapbookers; because it comes in a huge range of amazing colours and can be manipulated in many ways, it is great for jewellery artists. It is recyclable in that you can reuse it almost endlessly, it makes brilliant costumes and is great for supervised kids to play with. Is any of my enthusiasm coming across?!
